Smoke and Cleaning Estimates
Smoke and Cleaning estimates are available to the contractor that needs an Xactimate estimate. Smoke and cleaning estimates can also include restoration of interior damage. Restoration involves more trades and complications and generally is allowed overhead and profit.

Smoke and Cleaning Estimate Pricing
Smoke and cleaning estimates are 3% of estimate total - our minimum fee is $100
Any estimate under $3,500 is only $100. Over $3,500, our fee is 3% of the total. Restoration can be included as a second separate estimate at no extra charge, if ordered at the same time. This may help you avoid an additional minimum. If the combined total exceeds $3,500, the 3% fee still applies.

Forms that you are already using, may be acceptable as well. One cover page is required for every submittal. Send one room page for every affected room. If we already did the mitigation estimate for you, then we will have most of the information for the restoration estimate. Item qualities are only needed for restoration estimates.

Please, if you can, draw a floor plan of the affected rooms showing how these rooms are connected and with measurements. Square footage numbers are required of almost everything in Xactimate. Let’s get it right, from day one at the project. You’re not working by the hour as much as you are working by the square foot.. Measure to the inch. Ballparking is for amateurs. If you can’t draw a floor plan, then please include individual room drawings or at least room dimensions. Learn this skill and rise to the top of your profession.
